DIGITAL NOMADS HAVE A RESPONSIBILITY TO GIVE BACK

As digital nomads, we have the privilege of working from beautiful locations around the world. Cape Town welcomes us with open arms, offering stunning landscapes, vibrant culture, and warm hospitality.

But with this privilege comes responsibility. When we spend extended time in a community, we should integrate, contribute, and uplift those around us – especially those from less privileged backgrounds.

The Nomad Africa Fund provides a meaningful way for nomads to make a real, tangible impact in Cape Town through feeding programs, education sponsorship & funding local startups. 

To kick this off, we at Nomad Week have pledged R10 000 towards this fund. You can easily give back now and add to this by clicking one of the buttons below. 

CHOOSE HOW TO GIVE BACK

Feed a child

For just $6 (≈R100), you can provide a child with nutritious meals for an entire month through the Peninsula School Feeding Association, helping them stay healthy and focused at school.

Sponsor a student

With $70 (≈R1,200), you can send a high school student to school for a month via the Bright Student Learning Center, covering tuition, books, and supplies to help them stay on track with their education.

Support Local Entrepreneurs

Your contribution helps fund the Nomad Week Pitch Competition, providing cash prizes to first, second, and third place startups. The goal is to help local entrepreneurs grow their businesses and create jobs, boosting Cape Town’s economy and community opportunities.

Scholarship

The Nomad Africa Scholarship is a long-term initiative created to empower young adults across the continent with the skills, confidence, and support they need to thrive in the global remote economy.

Open to applicants from anywhere in Africa (18 years and older), this scholarship is designed to help ambitious individuals take their first steps toward building a sustainable freelance career or gaining clarity on the right career path for them.

Through this program, recipients will gain access to:

  • The Work Wanderers Freelancer Freedom Course (Free Access)
    A step-by-step program that shows you how to build your freelance business from scratch. From identifying your niche to landing your first client, you’ll create a clear roadmap to building a successful career online.

  • Career Clarity Session with Andrae Smith
    Work one-on-one with Andrae Smith, a certified Remote Career & Business Coach, to uncover your strengths, map out your career direction, and set achievable goals.

  • Personality & Career Analysis
    Gain insights into your personality type and explore which career paths and business models suit you best.

  • Community Support Network
    Join a supportive group of fellow young adults who are also starting their journeys. Share wins, ask questions, and grow together.
